¡Hola! I’m Ceci de Valdenebro, educadora y consultora bilingüe as well as a lifelong learner with over 25 years of experience in private and public schools across Colombia and the United States. Currently, I have the joy of serving as a faculty member in Education at Portland Community College, where I learn every day alongside future educators.
I earned my degree in psychology from La Universidad de La Sabana en mi tierra natal, Colombia, where I began my career supporting students’ emotional, social, and academic growth. After moving to Oregon 22 years ago with my husband, I continued my journey in education, obtaining a Master’s in Education, an ESOL certificaton, and an administrative license from Portland State University.
My path in the U.S. has been woven through many roles, starting as an instructional assistant, then bilingual teacher, coach, curriculum developer, school principal, and founder of a consulting company dedicated to empowering bilingual educators through meaningful professional development. Each step has been guided by a core belief: that culturally responsive teaching is the key to unlocking students and teachers’ full academic and human potential.
In Konjuntos space, you’ll find your voice, your story, and your culture not just welcomed, but celebrated. I invite you to join us and weave your own tapestry: one made of dreams, achievements, and the hope of a more just and compassionate world.
Gracias for stopping by. I would love to connect and aprender Konjuntos. ¡Nos vemos pronto!
¡Hola mi gente! Mi nombre es Andreina Velasco and I am a proud Venezuelan immigrant and bilingual educator with more than 15 years of experience working in public schools in Oregon. Currently, I have the honor of supporting aspiring multilingual and BIPOC educators as the David Douglas School District’s Grow Your Own pathway advisor , as well as as an adjunct faculty member at Portland State University's College of Education.
I came to the United States from Venezuela to attend Reed College, where I graduated with a degree in cultural anthropology. After gaining experience working with migrant children, I decided to pursue a Masters in Education and ESOL certification from Portland State University’s Bilingual Teacher Pathway. To best serve my students with disabilities, I later obtained a Special Education certification from Concordia University.
I began my career in education as a recruiter for the Migrant Education Program. I later became a bilingual instructional assistant and an inclusive bilingual teacher in the Portland Metro Area. Throughout my career, I have designed professional development, courses, and curricula at the early childhood, K-12, and higher education levels.
Co-founding Konjuntos is the culmination of a lifelong sueño for me, one where I can help to create culturally and linguistically affirming spaces for bilingual teachers. Konjuntos is diversion, pasión e innovación, a place where learning is grounded in joy and liberation. It is the space that I always wanted as a bilingual teacher. I am thrilled to co-construct it alongside you and your bilingual colleagues. ¡Konjuntos y pa’lante!
